Shirt Care
Tips on caring for, washing, ironing and starching your shirts.
Care tips
This page provides a clear overview of the most important tips for caring for your hemdwerk shirts. Content will be continuously expanded.
Washing
- Unbutton shirt before washing (buttons, collar, cuffs).
- Use mild detergent, wash similar colors together.
- Gentle cycle, according to care label (typically 30–40 °C).
- After washing, pull into shape and hang up.
Ironing
- Iron slightly damp or use steam.
- First collar and cuffs, then shoulder yoke, sleeves and front panels.
- Take care with embroidery and contrast fabrics (iron from reverse side if necessary).
Starching
Collar and cuffs can be treated with spray starch for a more defined look. Please follow the manufacturer's instructions and use sparingly.
Drying
- Do not over-dry. Best to air-dry on a hanger.
- Tumble dryer only if the care label explicitly permits it.
Follow care label
The information on the sewn-in care label is binding and takes priority over general recommendations.
